Book an Assessment

Two appointments. One of them is free, and it is the one most people need.

Start with the Fit Check unless you already know what you want looked at. It takes fifteen minutes and it regularly ends with us telling someone they do not need us yet.

Appointment 01 · Free

15-minute Fit Check

Phone or video, with Mara. A short conversation to establish whether we are the right people for your problem.

  • Confirm you are in the service area
  • Understand the main comfort problem
  • Decide whether Latchline is an appropriate contractor
  • Explain what the sensible next step is

No cost, no obligation, no site visit. If the answer is that you need a roofer, a plumber or an energy advisor first, we will say so.

Appointment 02 · $149

60-minute Home Comfort Assessment

At your property, in the service area. An hour on site with someone who will actually go up and look.

  • Review symptoms and accessible conditions
  • Document likely scope areas with photographs
  • Discuss constraints, access and sequencing
  • Prepare the next-step scope
$149, credited toward approved work over $2,500

Payment is arranged after the visit, not through this page.

Appointment details

Sent to the crew so we arrive prepared. If you booked above, this is how we learn about the parking, the pets and the attic hatch inside a closet.

A phone number is needed for an appointment.

Only needed for the 60-minute on-site assessment. The Fit Check is a phone call.

We ask so doors get closed at the right moments.

We need consent to confirm and remind you about an appointment.

What happens during the assessment

  1. We talk before we look

Fifteen minutes on which rooms, which season, and what has changed. This shapes everything that follows.

  2. We inspect what is safe to reach

Attic access, basement perimeter, mechanical room, and the transitions between them.

  3. We photograph everything

Including the places you cannot get to. You get the photographs whether or not you hire us.

  4. We tell you what we found, on the day

Including anything that needs another trade first. You will not wait a week for a verdict.

What to prepare

  • Clear access to the attic hatch, including anything stored in the closet beneath it
  • About a metre of clear space along the basement perimeter walls
  • Access to the mechanical room
  • Any previous quotes, reports or renovation records you have
  • A note of when the problem is worst, if it varies

Areas the assessor may need to reach: attic access, basement and crawlspace perimeter, mechanical room, bathroom fan locations, and the exterior at roof-edge level from the ground.

Practical notes

  • Cancellation. Twenty-four hours' notice is appreciated and never charged for on a first change.
  • Safety. Nobody enters a space that is unsafe to access. If the attic cannot be entered, we will tell you what that limits.
  • Privacy. Photographs are for your file and your report. They are not published without written permission, and no address appears on this site.
  • Not an EnerGuide evaluation. This is a contractor's assessment. Latchline is not an energy advisor and does not conduct official EnerGuide evaluations or determine rebate eligibility.
